GIFT GUIDE FOR THE MEN

We decided to do a Men's Gift Guide first because we find the men in our lives to be the hardest to buy for. All of these items were approved by our husbands, so we hope this helps you out with your Holiday shopping. There is a little something for everyone.

MUST HAVE MONDAY - CHRISTMAS DECOR

Fa la la la la la.....It's finally time to deck the halls! With Thanksgiving being a week later this year, we are definitely ready to start decorating our homes with Christmas cheer. Each year we like to add an item or two to our Christmas Decor collection. We have rounded up our favorite pieces for the season. We either have these items, or they are on the wish list this year. As you can tell, we like to stick with a more muted palette. Our tree ornaments are full of color, which we love, but integrating items with more of a natural element throughout the rest of the house keeps it from feeling so cluttered.

REPOST OF - THE BEST PUMPKIN RECIPE

Now that it's fall, we just had to repost our first ever recipe from last year. We make these muffins ALL the time! If you love pumpkin, then you will love these!

As soon as we see the first signs of fall we dream of warm, delicious Pumpkin Muffins. Although, these are so good that sometimes they are made in the middle of summer. Over the past few years this has been a go to recipe for Pumpkin Muffins. Occasionally a tempting new recipe on Pinterest will lure us in, but they are just never as good. Our kids love muffins for breakfast and on a typical rushed morning it's nice having a batch of these on hand. So, if you are looking for an easy, tried and true Pumpkin Muffin Recipe....then this one is for you!

Pumpkin Muffin Recipe

 Ingredients
  • 1 3/4 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 15 ounce can pure pumpkin puree (*not pumpkin pie filling*)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • optional topping - chopped pecans

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375° and line a standard size muffin pan with liners.
  2. Measure out the flour, sugars, baking soda, salt and spices in a medium bowl and whisk together. Set aside.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, pumpkin puree, vanilla and melted butter.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir. Make sure to not over mix. Just stir until everything is incorporated into the batter.
  5. Next evenly distribute the batter into the muffin tin.  It's helpful to use a large ice cream scoop for this process. They will be nearly full which will result in a nice puffy muffin top.
  6. This step is optional - top with chopped pecans or a little sprinkle of sugar.
  7. Bake muffins for 20-22 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the muffins comes out clean.

ROARING 20's OUTFIT IDEAS FOR THE ME FINE GALA

We jumped at the chance to partner with the Me Fine Foundation when they made the generous offer for us to giveaway a PAIR of tickets to the Me Fine Gala (valued at $275). Their website says it best, "Dust off those top hats and don your pearls for what will be a roaring good time at Me Fine’s 2019 Gala! The age of Gatsby, flappers, and prohibition will come back to life on Saturday, October 26th at the Cotton Room in downtown Durham."

The Roaring 20’s theme is right up our alley! We had so much fun picking out these cute dresses and accessories to fit the theme. We like how these pieces have a 20's flair without looking like a costume. This is an event you definitely don't want to miss! Make sure to enter our giveaway on our instagram post for a chance to win a pair of tickets, or you can buy tickets to the Gala HERE.

The Me Fine Foundation is a non-profit in our area that provides emotional and financial support to families whose children are being treated at UNC, Duke, and WakeMed Children's hospitals. It's such a great organization and the Me Fine Gala enables the Me Fine foundation to increase the proceeds that go directly to their emotional support and financial assistance programs.

JORDASH RECENT BUYS

This is a random assortment, but these are all recent buys that we just had to share. The basis of JordAsh is to share great products and tips that we truly  stand behind. So, are you are looking for a new great lipgloss or highlighter....or maybe you need a portable phone charger or slow cooker recommendation? If so, then we are happy we could help!

  1. The Home Edit Book - I absolutely love the two women behind this book. They take organizing to the next level...including the homes of many huge celebrities. They are also absolutely hilarious! I make sure to ALWAYS watch their instagram stories. This book really does share some great tips & ideas while also providing humor.
  2. New Balance Toddler Shoes - I just ordered these for Lanier and have already had a few people ask where I found them. I love the pale pink and blue color combo.
  3. Laura Geller Highlighter - We have posted about this a few times, but it's seriously the BEST highlighter we have ever used. It's a makeup staple and I just placed an order for a new one.
  4. Apple Certified Portable Phone Charger - I did a lot of research when I was shopping for a portable charger. I like that this one is slim and the same size as my phone. I can hold the battery against the back of the phone which makes it easy to still use while it's charging. It also charges my phone back to 100% SUPER fast.
  5. Silk Knotted Leopard Print Headband - We are obsessed will all of the Lele Sadoughi headbands. This one is so good. It's all about animal prints this fall.
  6. Plumping Lip Polish - We both love Buxom Lipgloss and this shade is a favorite for fall.
  7. All-Clad Deluxe Slow Cooker with Cast-Aluminum Insert - I am OBSESSED with this slow cooker. The cast aluminum insert makes searing meat so easy. You can just sear the meat on the stovetop and then drop the insert into the slow cooker. I also think the cast aluminum just cooks everything more evenly.
  8. Hardcore Carnivore Black Seasoning - Jordan recently had dinner at a friends house and this seasoning was used on the meat. She said it was so good and immediately placed an order for it.
  9. Hangers with Clips - I recently did a major closet clean out. I always use velvet hangers but I really wanted to add in some hangers with clips for my skirts and hard to hang tops. I found these, and they are perfect for just that.

We are loving all of these adorable pieces for girls & boys this fall. They are selling out quickly online! If you don't see the size you need online, then check the store if you have one nearby.

This is totally not typically an outfit I would buy for Liam, but it's just so adorable. I love a coordinating top & pant sets. Plus...Liam said it was, "The most AMAZING outfit ever!"  So, at least I'm a cool mom now.

Obsessed with this adorable dress! So so cute! There are limited sizes online, so check your local store.

Can't wait to see this cute little outfit on Connell!

Told Liam to strike a pose!

PERFECT SLOW COOKER RIBS

I recently got this Slow Cooker that I have been eyeing for a while. I love that it has a cast-aluminum insert so you can use it on the stovetop to brown ingredients and then easily transfer it to the base for slow cooking. My last crockpot quit working a couple years ago and I kind of forgot how easy it makes getting dinner on the table. This is definitely one of my favorite things to cook in the crockpot. It's super simple and takes just minutes to prepare. The last step is the most important and makes them taste like they are fresh off the grill.

If you have a Trader Joe's nearby, this is my favorite BBQ sauce to use for this recipe.

Ingredients
  • Rack of Pork Baby Back Ribs
  • Seasoning to taste (I like to do Salt, Pepper & Garlic)
  • 1 Bottle of your favorite barbecue sauce

Directions
  1. Divide ribs into 3 or 4 pieces.
  2. Place cut ribs into slow cooker and season to taste.
  3. Coat with 3/4 bottle of your favorite BBQ Sauce. (Usually around 2 cups)
  4. Cook on high for 4 hours or low for 8. (I have done both ways and they turn out great)
  5. Once ribs are fully cooked, carefully scoop them out of the slow cooker and place on a baking sheet.
  6. DO NOT SKIP THESE LAST TWO STEPS. Coat each rib piece with the remaining BBQ Sauce.
  7. Place in oven and broil on High until the sauce on top starts to slightly bubble. (Usually takes 3-4 minutes) This will caramelize the sauce and give it that, straight off the grill effect.

FRIDAY FINDS - UNDER $35

Happy Friday! We have found so many great pieces at our favorite store lately. We are big believers in investing in classic timeless pieces and creating a base wardrobe that you can wear for years. Then we like to mix in fun trendier pieces that are at a lower price point. Being stylish doesn't have to be expensive. We think all of these have a higher end designer look to them. Can you believe every one of these items is under $35!

This dress is a total must! Dress it up or dress it down with a leather jacket and some cute sneakers.

This is definitely one of our favorite prints. Love the belt on this one! Again, easy to dress up or dress down.

This top has such a high end look to it. Pairs perfectly with a skirt or a pair of high rise jeans. Great color for fall.
Rust Eyelet Top | Skirt Available in Stores

It's all about the leather skirt this fall and this is a really great one. It's not currently online so check your local store. This top is also a must. It's so soft and comfy and is a great fall staple.

Crew Neck Drapery Shirt | Top Handle Crossbody Bag | Skirt Available in Stores

This just may be our favorite look of them all. These pants are so cool! We also can't resist a comfy puff sleeve sweatshirt.
Puff Sleeve Sweatshirt | Pants Available in Stores

Another great print for fall. Love the sleeves!

Such a fun look as we transition into fall.

This skirt was one of our under $50 picks from Monday's post and it's even better in person. We added it to the JordAsh Closet. (Jordan and I joke that we should just create one big wardrobe for the two of us to share).

This dress isn't currently online but it's in the store right now. It also has pockets. We had to show how cute it looks on. For reference, Jordan is 5'4" & Ash is 5'8".

Kids Dance Wardrobe

Dance sessions are starting back up and we have picked out our favorite pieces for your little dancer. Jordan has had Connell in dance for a couple years now, but this is Lanier's first year. She will begin her first "Twirl Class" today and I'm super excited to dress her up like a tiny ballerina. However, a few weeks ago I started online shopping for her dance wardrobe and quickly realized that I had no idea where to begin. I called Jordan with all my questions...does she need a full on tutu or a little flounce skirt or a tie on skirt??? What about sleeves...cami? tank? long sleeve? short sleeve?? This is all new territory for me and I had no idea there were so many choices!!! So, she said she would send me some links to what Connell likes best. Then we started thinking that if I had all these questions,  then it might be helpful if we shared our selections with you too. It's just all too adorable! Everything is pictured in pink but most pieces are available in a variety of colors.
